  • Glass containers for pharmaceutical use are intended to come into direct contact with pharmaceutical products. The material of the glass container is hot pressed low expansion borosilicate glass, which has a high hydrolytic resistance and a high thermal shock resistance due to the chemical composition of the glass itself.
  • The inner surface of glass vials may be treated to improve hydrolytic resistance. The outer surface of glass vials may be treated to reduce friction or for protection against abrasion or breakage.The outer surface treatment is such that it does not contaminate the inner surface of the container.
  • Laboratory glass may be colored to provide protection from light by the addition of small amounts of metal oxides and is tested as described in Spectral Transmission for Colored Glass Containers.
  • In experiments that combine specific glass particle testing with surface glass hydrolysis resistance testing, hydrolysis resistance is determined by the amount of alkali released by the glass under specified conditions.When using more corrosion-resistant glass materials, the alkali content is very low.

Vial Mouth

    • Broken Finish: The damage to the container caused by defects is relatively small if seal is intact. If the sealing is not intact, it may cause personal injury, pose a potential danger, and reduce production efficiency;
    • Chipped Sealing Surface: A small part of the bottle mouth is missing or damaged. If the sealing integrity is damaged, it is classified as critical; If the sealing is intact, it cannot be used as packaging.
    • Fire Check: Fire check do not damage the integrity of the seal, and defects do not affect the quality or process capability of the product. etc.

Vial Body

    • Airline: If the width of the bubble line located on the bottle body is greater than 0.25mm, the defect level is lower;
    • Belt Marks: Due to the high temperature of the annealing furnace, the annealing furnace conveyor belt imprints located on the side and bottom of the container are produced, with a lower defect level;
    • Bent: The finish of the container is distorted to the extent that the plane of
      the seal surface is not perpendict1lar to axis of the body. etc.
